Carl D. Perkins IV State Plan
On July 31, 2018, the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, or Perkins V, was signed into law. This legislation requires states to submit a transition plan to the US Department of Education before a final plan is developed.
The Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006 calls for an increased focus on the academic achievement of career and technical education students, strengthened connections among secondary and postsecondary education and improved state and local accountability.
