Making Middle Grades Work
Making Middle Grades Work (MMGW) is an initiative of the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) designed to help states, districts and schools look at what they expect, what they teach and how they teach young adolescents to prepare for success in further education. Participating states and schools agree to accelerate student achievement by creating the supportive framework required for teachers and school leaders to implementMMGW goals, key improvement conditions, and practices.
Ohio has four regional centers that assist middle-grade schools that have adopted the school improvement model--the aim of which is to improve how students are prepared for work, careers and further education by enhancing curriculum/instruction at middle-grade levels.
