Greetings Community Schools and Sponsors,
As we prepare for the opening of the 18-19 school year, the Office of Community Schools (OCS) wanted to provide some updates to schools/sponsors.
Since the initial publication of the 2018-2019 Sponsor Evaluation documents, minor changes were made to provide additional information/guidance to assist with the evaluation process. The changes are:
• Guidance on the submission of documents that exceed 25 pages
• Using the compliance templates provided by the Department for the 18-19 evaluation
• A reminder the Department may validate compliance indicators
I know all of you are busy with closing out the school year and working on the Compliance component of the Sponsor Evaluation, however, I wanted to take a moment to share some information with you from our office.
• The sponsor evaluation submission for the compliance component is Friday, June 29, 2018, 11:59 PM. Document submissions can be removed or replaced until the submission deadline.
Per ORC 3314.016, the community school sponsor evaluation system “shall be developed and posted on the department's web site by the fifteenth day of July of each school year. Beginning in 2018, the training shall be made available to each entity that sponsors a community school by the fifteenth day of July of each year and shall include guidance on any changes made to the evaluation system.”

I wanted to send out a few points of clarification specific to the five-year forecasts based upon our review of the early submissions. We recommend the sponsor review the five-year forecasts for accuracy and completeness prior to submission into Epicenter.
