The Charter Schools Program (CSP) subgrant competition for the 2018-2019 school year is open to eligible applicants. Community schools that opened in either school year 16-17 or 17-18 with an eligible sponsor may attend this session. Additionally, newly operating community schools with a preliminary agreement or executed contract with an eligible sponsor may attend this session.
The Department posted the federal Charter School Program Request for Application on the Charter School Program webpage. The grants are for Fiscal Year 2019. The Department will accept applications in the Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Plan (CCIP) system from April 20 – May 21, 2018.
Due to the State Board meeting the Five Year Forecast Webinar that is scheduled for Monday, April 9th will be recorded at noon on Monday. The event will not happen live. You will receive a link to listen to the webinar later in the day.
Community School Treasurers and Sponsors,
Over the past several months the Ohio Department of Education worked with stakeholders and the Auditor of State's office to update the format for the Five Year Forecast. Under ORC 3314.03 (A)(11)(d) all community schools must submit a forecast of revenues and expenditures twice a year to the Department using the prescribed format. The deadline for submission of the second or final forecast for this school year is May 31.
Good morning community school sponsors,
It has been brought to the Department’s attention that the logic formula for Item #120 on the Compliance Worksheet for Oversight of Schools is not properly functioning. The worksheet posted on the Department’s website prevents sponsors from entering text in the cell for the response to Compliance Question 2. To address this, the Department has created a submission type in Epicenter for sponsors to provide their response. The submission type, Student Assessment Time, can be accessed under the Sponsor Compliance Review in Epicenter.
