Panel Recommendations to Improve System for Evaluating Community School Sponsors

On November 20, 2015 an impartial panel of experts today provided draft recommendations to the Ohio Department of Education to improve Ohio’s system of evaluating community school sponsors. The three components of the recommendations, all with equal weighting to create a transparent formula for rating sponsors, are:

• Alignment of academic performance to Ohio’s report card;
• Compliance with laws and administrative rules; and
• Adherence to quality sponsor practice measures.
