EMIS Newsflash – April 24, 2020

2020 Assessment Data Appeal Opens
Starting Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 29, superintendents may appeal 2020 assessment data, including assessment data for kindergarteners, grades three through eight, and end-of-course tests. These data will not only affect many measures on the 2020 Ohio Report Cards, but will also impact the amount of state funding received by the district. This is the only opportunity to appeal this data.

A superintendent who finds inaccurate data should submit an appeal by the May 29 deadline using the appropriate appeal form:
  • 2020 Data Appeal for Kindergarten Readiness Assessments
  • 2020 Data Appeal for Fall 3rd Grade Reading
  • 2020 Data Appeal for Summer & Fall End-of-Course Assessments
The superintendent, EMIS coordinator, and superintendent designee all have access to fill out the data appeal form. The Department will consider the submission official when the superintendent or designee approves the form and completes the process. For answers to questions regarding the data review or data appeals, contact the Office of Data Quality.
