EMIS Newsflash – August 15, 2016

FY16 Non-Statewide Accountability Assessments Appeals Open
Beginning Monday, Aug. 15 through Wednesday, Aug. 24, superintendents of traditional districts, community schools, JVSDs and STEM districts may review ACT, SAT, IB, AP, Work Keys and Industry Credentials data reported in EMIS during the 2016 school year.

If a superintendent has inaccurate data, he or she should submit an appeal by the Aug. 24 deadline as described here, using the “Fiscal Year 2016 Non-Statewide Accountability Assessments Data Appeal” form within the Forms application in SAFE.

The superintendent, EMIS coordinator and superintendent designee have access to fill out the data appeal form. The form is not officially submitted to the department, however, until the superintendent or designee approves the form and completes the process.

For answers to questions regarding the data review or data appeals, please contact the Office of Data Quality.
ODE ITC EMIS Trainings for August 2016
Dates and times for the August ODE ITC EMIS Trainings for district and ITC EMIS staff have been set. Delivery is via Skype for Business and Conference Call.

Prior registration is required. The August trainings will be offered on five different dates/times. The five August trainings will include FY16 Remaining Collections, Upcoming FY17 Collections, Data Appeals, and Managing Collections from the New Progress Tab in the Data Collector. Registrants will be able to select a date that best fits their schedule at the time of registration, as long as space is available. Capacity is 150 registrants per session.

For those who participate as a group (e.g., as/at an ITC), please note that only one person from the group will need to register in STARS. Acknowledgment of attendance will be based on sign-in sheets from the ITCs.

Registration is now available in the STARS application.

A SAFE account and completion of the STARS User Profile are required in order to register. Search for keyword “EMIS” within the STARS application to locate the trainings. A Skype meeting invitation will be emailed to each registrant. The email invitation will include full instructions for participating in the session, as well as any handouts.
