EMIS Newsflash – August 27, 2018

Data Appeal Window Open for Summer Third Grade Reading
From Monday, Aug. 27, through Friday, Aug. 31, superintendents and EMIS coordinators should check summer third grade reading data on their test vendor files. Like last year, the Department will use the assessment vendor file instead of requiring districts to report the summer third grade reading assessment data via EMIS. If a superintendent finds inaccurate assessment vendor data, submit an appeal by the Aug. 31 deadline as described here, using the “Data Appeal for Summer Third Grade Reading” form within the Forms application in SAFE.
The superintendent, EMIS coordinator, and superintendent designee can access and complete the data appeal form. The Department does not consider the form to be officially submitted, however, until the superintendent or designee approves it in SAFE.
For answers to questions about data appeals, please contact the Office of Data Quality.

The SDC is now open for review of many of the reports related to the 2018 Report Card data.
SDC Release Notes
SDC release notes are posted in a separate SDC Release Notes document on ODE’s website here. The website provides a list of SDC reports, a high level description of whether or not each report is ready for district review, and any important additional details about the status of the report, including any known issues associated with the report as of the last date the website is updated.
SDC Release Notes will also continue to be included in the EMIS Newsflashes that go out when the SDC is open.
