Webcast on the 2015 State Report Card
The following message has been sent to district superintendents:

The Ohio Department of Education is hosting a webcast on Tuesday, Jan. 26, from 10 - 10:45 a.m. to discuss the process for finalizing the data to be used for the 2015 State Report Cards. On Feb. 25, the department will release the remaining components of the 2015 State Report Card (Achievement, Gap Closing and Progress), as well as information about gifted students and district financial expenditures. The department also will release career-technical planning district and dropout recovery school report cards at that time.

The webcast will be another opportunity to review the appeals process and other questions you may have. The primary audience for the webcast are superintendents and staff who work with EMIS within the district, as well as administrators interested in the final data validation and the appeals process. Please register here for the webcast.

Reminder:  Final Appeals Window for 2015 Report Card is Open
The The FY15 reporting collections for DORP, End of Course, OGT, Grade 3 Math and all Grade 4-8 Assessments closed on Tuesday, January 19th. FY15 reporting collections for Student data (2015S3TRD and 2015SBODE), Grade 3 Reading Assessments (fall, spring and 2016 summer) and Alternate Assessment results closed on January 8, 2016.

In cases where districts know there are additional corrections that need to be made to the data reported in the collections noted above, superintendents (or Superintendent Designees) may alert the department to the reporting concern and request an opportunity to make corrections through the department’s formal data appeals process.  Examples of data covered by this final 2015 Report Card appeals window include 2015 Diagnostic Results, 2015 Assessment data, 2015 Majority of Attendance data and 2015 Reading Improvement and Monitoring Plan data.  Please note: the data addressed in prior appeals windows held this fall, including 2014 Diagnostic data, 2014 Graduation and Prepared for Success data, and 2016 Retention data are no longer subject to appeals.

Data appeals must be submitted using the Data Appeals forms located behind SAFE.  Step-by-step instructions on completing the Data Appeals forms are available on the department’s website here.

Please note that in response to concerns from the field, the department will not require districts to complete the Corrective Action Plan (CAP) portion of the FY2015 Report Card data appeal form.  Districts submitting a data appeal form can enter “N/A” in the CAP related fields.

If you have any questions regarding the appeals process, please contact the Office of Data Quality.
