Data Review Window Open for 2015 Graduation and Prepared for Success
The following information was posted to ODE’s website by the Office of Communications and Outreach on Friday, June 10, 2016.

Beginning Monday, June 13 through Wednesday, June 22, superintendents may conduct their required review of 2015 EMIS data that will affect their districts’ Graduation Rate and Prepared for Success components of the 2016 Ohio School Report Cards. Superintendents are to signify whether these data are accurate or not as they complete the “Fiscal Year 2016 EMIS Report Card Data Review for Graduate” form, which is within the Forms application in SAFE. If a superintendent has inaccurate data, he or she should submit an appeal as described here.

Please note that the superintendent, treasurer, EMIS coordinator and superintendent designee have access to fill out the “Fiscal Year 2016 EMIS Report Card Data Review for Graduate” form. The data review is not officially submitted to the department, however, until the superintendent approves the form and completes the process.

To help districts/community schools review these 2015 data, districts should refer to the District and School Graduation Rates reports in the Secure Data Center and use the Prepared for Success data provided by the department in the ODE Document Exchange behind the FORMS application within SAFE.

Data Appeals Window Open for 2015 Graduation and Prepared for Success
The following information was posted to ODE’s website by the Office of Communications and Outreach on Friday, June 10, 2016

The 2015 appeals window will open Monday, June 13 through Wednesday, June 22 for superintendents to report any inaccuracies they find during the review period for Graduation Rate and Prepared for Success data, which also opens today. The department will present the data your district reports as part of the Graduation Rate and Prepared for Success components of the Ohio School Report Cards in September.

Superintendents may alert the department to 2015 Graduation Rate and/or 2015 Prepared for Success data reporting concerns and request an opportunity to make corrections using the “2015 EMIS Data Appeal for Graduate” form within the Forms application in SAFE.

Students from the class of 2014 who graduated in five years are part of this year’s Prepared for Success calculation. However, the appeal period for class of 2014 graduation records took place in late 2015 and a second appeal opportunity this year will not be available. The 2015 Graduation Rate and Prepared for Success data appeal process that begins today will only cover associated data for the class of 2015.

Please note that the superintendent, treasurer, EMIS coordinator and superintendent designee have access to fill out the “2015 EMIS Data Appeal for Graduate” form. The data appeal is not officially submitted to the department, however, until the superintendent approves the appeal and completes the process.

If you have any questions regarding the data review or data appeals, please contact the Office of Data Quality.
