FY18 CTE March (D) Follow-up Appeals
This appeal has resulted in 794 additional FY18D students being approved. Once the rows have been copied out to each Data Collector, the 65 districts impacted will  see a new Level 2 report named (CTFL-003) CTE March Follow Up Extract for FFE - Approved Appeals. This report can be downloaded and loaded into FFE, just like the original file when the collection window opened in late January. 
 
Additionally, the ODE Office of Data Quality has begun sending out email communications regarding the students approved, as well as the reason(s) for students being denied.
 
Any questions about the students—whether approved or disapproved—should be directed to the Department’s Office of Career Technical Education, specifically Kelsey Stephens and Melissa Maynard at Kelsey.Stephens@education.ohio.gov and Melissa.Maynard@education.ohio.gov.
 
New EMIS Coordinator Training
The Ohio Department of Education will be hosting a full day (8:00 am to 4:00 pm) New EMIS Coordinator Training for any EMIS Coordinators with 3 or fewer years of experience. This training builds on that provided in August and is geared towards end of year EMIS reporting. Note that the August training is not a requirement to participate in this session.
 
Two different dates will be offered: Friday, April 13, 2018, and Monday, April 16, 2018. Interested participants will be able to select their date preference at the time of registration, as long as space is available. Register for only one session. The two sessions are the same and there is not enough space for people to attend both. If you end up closed out of one session, we will place you in the other session if space allows.
 
Training registration is now available in the STARS application. Due to the limited space, prior registration is required.
 
All registrants are initially placed on a waitlist. This is to ensure that there is enough seating available and to allow new coordinators priority registration. You will receive an email notification of your placement on the waitlist. If you do not receive such a notification, then you have not completed the registration process. Be sure you have clicked the final confirmation button. You will also be notified via email when you are removed from the waitlist informing you of whether your registration has been confirmed or cancelled.
 
The registration deadline for both events is Friday, April 6, 2018 at 5:00 pm.
 
To register, participants must have a SAFE Account and must complete the STARS User Profile. Search for keyword “EMIS” within the STARS application to locate the training. For additional information on using STARS, please click here.
 
April 2018 ODE ITC EMIS Training Sessions
ODE EMIS Training Staff are scheduled for their next round of visits to ITC locations across the state from April 9 - 25, 2018. The agenda will include topics on FY18 end of year reminders for the Student, Assessment, Staff/Course, and Graduation Collections; New CTE Reports Update; and other topics. 
 
EMIS Coordinators interested in attending at a location other than the ITC used for EMIS submissions will need to contact the alternate ITC location in advance to ensure space is available. For training locations, dates, and times, please refer to the April 2018 EMIS Training Schedule posted on ODE’s website. ITC contact information is available within the OEDS application. Select “Search Organization”, then select “ITC” in the “Search by Organization Type” dropdown.
