Pandemic EBT Program Data Submission Information
On Tuesday March 2, 2021 the following communication outlining the next three submissions for Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) data was sent to superintendents and food service directors. We know many districts rely on their EMIS coordinators to help submit these data and wanted to ensure you were also made aware of the submission windows for the rest of the school year.
Dear Superintendent, EMIS Coordinator and Food Service Director:
The Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services would like to thank Ohio schools and school districts for the tireless and collaborative efforts of school food service, EMIS coordinators, principals, administrative staff and countless other school and school district professionals in submitting the February Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) data. More than 617,000 Ohio students benefited from this round of P-EBT.
The P-EBT program provides families who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, formerly known as food stamps. The daily benefit amount recently changed from $5.86 to $6.82 (the federal reimbursement rate for breakfast, lunch and snack) for each day a child is eligible for P-EBT.
There are three remaining data collection windows
in school year 2020-2021. The Department encourages schools and districts to continue successful collaboration of EMIS, school food service, administrative professionals and school administration for collecting and reporting the P-EBT data:
- March 11 deadline: Submission of eligible student data reflecting remote education or reduced hours of attendance with no meal provided at school from Jan. 1 – Feb. 28, 2021;
- May 13 deadline: Submission of eligible student data reflecting remote education or reduced hours of attendance with no meal provided at school from March 1 – April 30, 2021;
- July 8: Submission of eligible student data reflecting remote education or reduced hours of attendance with no meal provided at school from May 1 – June 30, 2021;
Information that needs corrected for any students from prior months also can be submitted at the time of the data collections. Schools may reference the Jan. 19 P-EBT instructions letter
for data submission directions. Please reference the P-EBT School and School District Question and Answer
document for additional program qualification details.
