Data Appeal Window Open for 2019 Funding Data
Starting Monday, Sept. 16 through Wednesday, Oct. 2, treasurers and superintendents can review funding data in the Ohio District Data Exchange (ODDEX). A district that finds inaccurate data should submit an appeal by the Oct. 2 deadline using the 2019 Data Appeal for Funding form, available in the OH|ID portal (formerly SAFE).

The funding data appeal window will allow an opportunity to appeal cross-district data (such as community school flags and overlapping enrollment) that impact funding. As notified in EdConnection on July 15 and Aug. 12, districts will not be able to appeal their own EMIS data during the funding appeal process. This data already has been subject to review and appeal this past summer.

The treasurer and superintendent must both approve the funding data appeal. The treasurer must approve the forms first, then the superintendent or designee approves the form to complete the process. For answers to questions about data appeals, contact the Office of Data Quality.

Data Review Open for 2019 Financial Data
From Monday, Sept. 16 through Wednesday, Oct. 2, treasurers must complete the required review of their finance data reported in Ohio’s Education Management Information System (EMIS). As they complete and submit the 2019 Data Review for Finance form, treasurers must signify whether the data are accurate.

EMIS Data Review and Verification forms are part of EMIS reporting described in Ohio Revised Code 3301.0714. The law requires treasurers to review and certify the quality of data, as noted in Ohio Administrative Code 3301-14-01 (G). Failing to complete the process may trigger progressive sanctions outlined in OAC 3301-17.

Only the treasurer can access and complete the data review forms in the OH|ID portal (formerly SAFE).

For more information about the data review window, timeline, and completion process, visit the EMIS Data Review & Verification webpage. For questions regarding data reviews, contact the Department's Office of Data Quality.

Data Appeal Window Open for 2019 Financial Data
From Monday, Sept. 16 through Wednesday, Oct. 2, treasurers can review finance data submitted in EMIS. These data affect the 2019 Ohio School Report Cards and maintenance of effort (MOE) obligations for federal funding. If results are incorrect because financial data has been reported inaccurately in EMIS, the treasurer should submit an appeal by the Oct. 2 deadline as described here.

Only the treasurer can complete the data appeal form in the OH|ID portal (formerly SAFE). For answers to questions about data appeals, contact the Office of Data Quality.
