Apply for Financial Aid to Support the Educational Needs of Displaced Students
Ohio’s local school leaders stepped up to assist students impacted by the natural disasters of 2017. Now, the Ohio Department of Education can apply for federal financial assistance to help public school districts and private schools with the unexpected costs of educating displaced students.
We encourage eligible districts and private schools to complete a short application to identify the numbers of displaced students served during the 2017-2018 school year.
In addition, public districts can apply for homeless assistance funds if any of the displaced students were homeless.
The timelines for these two applications are tight and must be completed by Friday, May 25.
