Early Childhood Education Expansion Funding 2014-2015
Ohio’s General Assembly increased the state’s investment in high-quality early learning preschool services when the governor signed into law House Bill 59. For Fiscal Year 2015, this allocated an additional $12 million to the early childhood education program. This program will help an additional 2,940 children receive high-quality preschool during the 2014-2015 academic school year.
The new funds for Fiscal Year 2015 have been awarded to existing high-quality early learning programs within high-needs areas of the state who can serve children. The links below provide additional information about this program:
The early childhood education program requirements are posted here. Programs must meet all requirements for funding.
The funding distribution method is described here. Awarded programs were selected based on this distribution method.
These resources will allow Ohio to serve additional children that otherwise would not have access to high-quality preschool experiences.
