New Early Childhood Education Funding 2013–14
Ohio's General Assembly increased the state's investment in high–quality early learning preschool services when the governor signed into law House Bill 59, which allocated an additional $10 million to the early childhood education program for Fiscal Year 2014. This program will help an additional 2,450 children receive high–quality preschool during the 2013–2014 academic school year.
In order to ensure children are served as quickly as possible this school year, the new funds were offered to existing high–quality early learning programs within high–needs areas of the state who can immediately serve children. The links below provide additional information about this program:
The early childhood education program requirements are posted here. Programs must meet all requirements for funding and have the ability to start services immediately.
The funding distribution method is described here.
Awarded programs are listed here.
These resources will allow Ohio to serve additional children that otherwise would not have access to high–quality preschool experiences.
