School Age Child Care Licensing

Find Programs
This Early Care & Education Search Tool will help you locate the type of early care and education program that meets your needs. You also can learn more about programs' licensing status, Step Up To Quality rating, and inspection results.

Ohio Department of Education is responsible for licensing school-age child care (5yrs- 14yrs) iStock_group-of-kids_highres.jpgprograms operated by public schools, educational service centers, community schools, boards of developmental disabilities, and chartered nonpublic schools with multiple grades above kindergarten following Chapter 3301-32 of the Administrative Code School-Age Child Care Program Rules 1-12 (effective 7/01/2021)

To “operate” a program means being directly responsible for the day to day planning, organizing, and managing of the program. That is, “fiscal agent” and “location” do not determine jurisdiction.

A SACC program operated by an entity that is not listed above should contact the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (1-877-302-2347) for program licensing information.

ALL preschool and school-age child care licensing
and Step Up To Quality functions must be completed in
Ohio Child Licensing and Quality System (OCLQS).
