Does the Department maintain student records and transcripts?
The Department does not maintain student records or transcripts and does not have access to any student records or transcripts.
How do I obtain my student records?
Public Schools and Operating Community Schools
If you attended a public school or a community school that is still in operation, you must obtain your student records and transcripts directly from the school you attended. Some schools have resources on their website informing students about how to obtain student records or a transcript. Some may even use automated systems to request school records and transcripts. If a school does not indicate how to obtain school records or a transcript, you should contact the school via phone and/or email. Directory information for schools is listed in the Department’s Ohio Educational Directory System.
If you attended a private school, please contact the Office of Nonpublic Educational Options at (614) 728-2678 for information on where to obtain your student records and transcripts.
What if the community school I attended is closed?
ECOT (Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow)
If you attended ECOT, please contact email@example.com for questions about your student records or transcript.
Other Closed Community Schools
If you attended any other community school that has closed, please contact your local public school district, as closing community schools are required to transfer school records to each student’s district of residence based on the student’s address. Directory information for schools is listed in the Department’s Ohio Educational Directory System.

How do I obtain a copy of my 22+ Adult Diploma?
You must obtain your student records and transcripts directly from the provider of the 22+ Adult Diploma Program which you attended. A list of 22+ Adult Diploma program providers can be found here.

How do I obtain college records and transcripts?
If you have questions about your college records or transcripts, please contact the college you attended. Students looking for transcripts from closed institutions should go to the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools website: https://scr.ohio.gov/ConsumerInformation/StudentTranscripts.aspx. This website lists closed colleges in Ohio, along with additional information about how to request a transcript for each closed institution. The Student Records Request Form is available from this site if applicable.
