12 Safety and Pupil Health

Schools and school districts must create safe and supportive learning environments. All schools and districts must have plans in place for the physical safety of all students and adults. A plan is required for all districts and must include responses to accidental injuries, illness outbreaks, dangerous weather, fire and violence. Local school boards must adopt a comprehensive school safety plan for each school under the board's or governing authority’s control.

Districts and schools must implement processes that identify student health concerns and opportunities for access to appropriate related resources.  All health and safety laws must be followed.
