Epinephrine (Epi-pen™) Auto-injector Procurement

This legislation (HB 296) will give Ohio schools information related to the procurement of epinephrine auto-injectors for public schools. Schools in Ohio now have the ability to obtain epinephrine auto-injectors without a specific person indicated as the recipient. This procurement allows schools to access potentially life-saving drugs for schools to counteract the effects of a severe allergic reaction of a student.

The Ohio Department of Education is charged with collecting data related to a district’s ability to access these life-saving drugs.
