Guidance and Instructions for Submitting Exemption Requests for the 2024-2025 School Year

Ohio is excited about the opportunity to support Ohio school districts, educational service centers and nonpublic schools that are interested in exploring innovative learning approaches. The intention of the exemption is to provide flexibility to schools to use innovative, and yet still rigorous, instructional approaches that may be more compatible with the educational programs or objectives of the applicants. If approved, an exemption allows the district, school or ESC to implement the innovative instructional approaches outlined in the application. The application window opens Mar. 30, 2024 and applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. May 13, 2024. If you should have questions about the program, please email IEPP@education.ohio.gov.
