Every Moment Counts

Every Moment Counts is a mental health promotion initiative developed to help all children and youth become emotionally healthy in order to succeed in school, at home and in the community.

Advanced mentors will benefit from additional training opportunities

While IM and RE-1 remain the only required trainings for mentors, advanced mentor trainings are available for all educators. Optional trainings are now posted in STARS through your SAFE account (search keywords “advanced mentor training”).

Deadline for end-of-year reporting requirements is June 30, 2014

It is important for program coordinators to enter end-of-year completion criteria data for each registered resident educator, regardless of what year of the program they are registered. Completion criteria also must be entered for resident educators who signed up to take the Resident Educator Summative Assessment this year. The completion criteria reported in the Connected Ohio Records for Educators (CORE) is for the program. Summative assessment results will be reported at a later date, independent of program registration data. Directions for entering the completion criteria are available here.

Funding reimbursement requests are due June 30

Funding is available for each first-year resident educator working in a public district, chartered community school, educational service center, career center or joint vocational school. To be eligible for these funds, a school or district must have registered their resident educators in CORE by the designated deadline. Reimbursement funds must be requested by June 30, 2014. Read the original news item here. Detailed directions for each of these steps are available here.
