Cleveland Scholarship Program updates

The Cleveland Scholarship Program application period for the 2015-2016 school year opened on Feb. 1, 2015 and is ongoing. Students who live in the Cleveland Municipal School District who are entering grades K-12 for fall 2015 are eligible to apply for a scholarship now to attend a private school this fall. Students who are currently receiving a Cleveland Scholarship also can renew their scholarships during this time.

Jon Peterson Scholarship Program updates

The Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship Program had 4,019 applications submitted by the April 15 deadline. Of this number, 1,067 are new applicants. Applications are currently being reviewed by the public school districts. Scholarship award letters will be mailed to parents in late June. Students awarded in this application period will receive funding for services provided July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2016.

Autism Scholarship Program updates

The Autism Scholarship Program is currently accepting applications for the 2015-2016 program year.  Providers must be registered and approved prior to submitting student applications. Schools that are interested in registering to provide services to students using the autism scholarship should contact the program at AutismScholarship@education.ohio.gov for more information on the requirements.

Old Trail School selected as a Green Ribbon School

This spring, the U.S. Department of Education recognized one chartered nonpublic school in Ohio, Old Trail School in Bath, as a Green Ribbon School. The Green Ribbon Award honors selected schools for their exemplary and comprehensive efforts to reduce environmental impact and utility costs, promote better health, and ensure effective environmental education, including civics, STEM and green career pathways.

Information for non-chartered, non-tax supported schools

Annual registration for non-chartered, non-tax (NCNT) supported schools is required and takes place from July 1 through Sept. 30. Schools that do not comply with these requirements will not be listed as an NCNT- supported school by the Ohio Department of Education in the following school year.
