Each Child, Our Future, Ohio’s strategic plan for education, establishes a vision that, in Ohio, each child is challenged to discover and learn, prepared to pursue a fulfilling post-high school path and empowered to become a resilient, lifelong learner who contributes to society.
At its core, Each Child, Our Future recognizes that improvement in education demands the effective use of data. Data is an essential tool for unlocking and identifying the root causes of inequities in education and promoting practices that guard against future inequities.
As the education landscape continues to evolve, reliable data and quality supports designed to meet needs identified in the data, are more important than ever.
To that end, the Department is publishing the following Data Insights reports to shed light on the state of education in Ohio and inspire both conversation and action to support students. Ohio’s state-level data can provide important insight into educational patterns playing out across the state. As is best practice in continuous improvement science, the Department encourages schools and districts to consider effective ways to collect, analyze and make sense of their local data, using it to set goals and drive improvement
