Cleveland Scholarship Program updates

2/26/2014

The Cleveland Scholarship Program application period for the 2014-2015 school year opened on Feb. 1, 2014. Students who live in the Cleveland Municipal School District who are entering Grades K-12 for Fall 2014 are eligible to apply for a scholarship now to attend a private school this fall. Students who are currently receiving a Cleveland Scholarship can also renew their scholarship during this time. The application deadline is April 18, 2014. Late submissions will not be permitted.

Parents interested in applying for their children should contact a participating private school for assistance. Scholarship request forms and other details are found online at the Cleveland Scholarship Program website or at any one of the participating private schools. For the current (2013-2014) school year, the Cleveland Scholarship Program received and processed almost 7,500 applications. Slightly more than 6,200 students accepted the awards issued for the year and are attending a participating private school. The program reached its capacity to issue awards this year, which is unprecedented.

Winter tuition payment was processed in January and mailed to participating private schools. Additional payments have been made since then for those schools that were not included in the initial winter payment. Another winter payment was initiated on Feb. 21. The spring payment for the final 20 percent of the annual tuition will be processed in March.

Please contact the scholarship office at (877) 644-6338 or cleveland.scholarship@education.ohio.gov, if you have additional questions or need assistance.
