Ohio Teacher of the Year
The Ohio Teacher of the Year award program identifies exceptional teachers statewide and celebrates their effective work in and outside the classroom. The intent of this recognition program is to amplify teacher voice and empower educators to take part in critical conversations regarding decisions affecting students, teachers and public education as a whole.
Ohio has two levels of recognition and selection process for this honor:
- The State Board District Teacher of the Year recognition and,
- The Ohio Teacher of the Year award.
Awardees are part of a network of exemplary teachers who are engaged in school improvement initiatives.
