Empowering Educators to Teach to Reach
WHEN: March 28, 2014
WHERE: GREATER COLUMBUS CONVENTION CENTER | COLUMBUS, OHIO
Ohio's Spring Education Symposium 2014 provides a unique forum for Ohio educators to expand your understanding about how to design and select quality assessments for classroom use. Programming for this one-day event will strive to answer the fundamental question every educator asks of themselves: How can I be truly effective with my teaching and ensure my students are learning what they need to learn for academic success?
Informational sessions and hands-on workshops will offer an opportunity to discover new ideas, connect with experts and peers, share promising practices and successes from your own schools and districts, and take away excellent implementation tools and resources. Attendees will obtain training and professional support in selecting, developing and using assessments.
“Children do not always learn what we teach. That is why the most important assessment does not happen at the end of the learning—it happens during the learning, when there is still time to do something with the information.”
-Dylan Wiliam, 2011
Principals, teachers, superintendents, educational service center staff, community school staff and sponsors, board members and all education stakeholders vested in the achievement of Ohio’s students are invited to attend.
