A school district may need to delay school or cancel a day or several days of school during its scheduled testing window, due to weather or other unexpected circumstances. This guidance addresses the extension of a district’s testing window only under these circumstances. A district cannot use a testing window extension for a school delay or closure that occurred before testing started.
Clarification on accessibility and accommodations for new state tests has been released that provides answers to these questions: What are accessibility features and accommodations and how have these changed in the 2014-2015 school year? What are the federal IDEA rules and how does Ohio ensure compliance? How do the new changes impact an IEP team’s decisions?
Ohio includes all students, including those with disabilities, in state tests, and their results are included in state accountability. All children matter, and Ohio has a responsibility to make sure that all children learn and grow in our classrooms.
