OEC Announces Call for Proposals for 2013 Special Education Leadership Conference
The Office for Exceptional Children (OEC), Ohio Department of Education announces a Call for Proposals for Ohio’s 7th Annual Special Education Leadership Conference that will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 1-2, 2013, at the Columbus Convention Center. The focus for the 2013 Conference is Achieving Balance: Leading Improvement for Children with Disabilities While Managing Compliance.
OEC is seeking proposals about practical, hands-on strategies, activities, and resources that have proven to support children with disabilities to help them make performance improvements. Proposals are encouraged from presenters who can share strategies, tools, and resources that are helping to produce increasing results for children with disabilities, who can demonstrate how student data can be used to determine how to teach all children effectively, who can connect research to practice in the daily work of helping children learn, who can demonstrate how technology is making a difference for children with disabilities, and who can describe what they do as they work continuously to improve their practices to increase the achievement of their children with disabilities.
The deadline for submitting a proposal application is March 11, 2013. Proposals should be submitted via email to Caroline Coston at firstname.lastname@example.org. Notification regarding proposal acceptance will be no later than April 9, 2013.
