    The Reform Support Network designed the Student Learning Objectives (SLO) Toolkit to help states and school districts implement SLOs with the highest degree of quality. This updated version (May 2014) features over 100 State and district resources related to making SLO policy choices, providing SLO tools, selecting or creating assessments and setting targets, communicating with teachers and principals, training district staff and school administers and ensuring continuous improvement.

    State Council for Educator Effectiveness Report and Recommendations (Final Report), for the Colorado State Board of Education

    These pages within the State Council report recommend the use of Student Growth Objectives (SGOs) and sixty recommendations to the Colorado Board of Education regarding SGOs. The recommendations are:

    • Attribution of Student Data among Teachers,
    • CDE Support for Selection of Student Growth Measures,
    • Analysis of Student Growth Data,
    • CDE Support for the Analysis of Student Growth Data, and
    • Weighting of Student Growth Measures

    Included in this report is a flow chart and matrix regarding teacher evaluation showing how to combine professional practice measures with student growth measures and how the final performance ratings can be calculated.

    This document is found in the appendix of the 177 page report to the Colorado Board of Education (#8 of the appendix).  This report comes from SCEE workgroup that contains charts for required and supplementary assessments and measures by personnel type. One of the charts in this document is a flowchart for determining how to calculate student growth.  Also used is a table that describes which assessments are required and which are optional to use in evaluating teachers based on what assessments are available.   Information regarding the requirements, both for the assessments that are required and the optional assessments can also be found in this document.
