The temporary changes in House Bill 197, House Bill 164 and House Bill 404 of the 133rd General Assembly impact teacher, principal and school counselor evaluations. These changes, made in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, grant districts flexibility around educator evaluations for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years.

The Ohio Evaluation System (OhioES) is an online educator evaluation system for use by Ohio districts and schools that are implementing OTES 2.0.
Evaluators can collect and store growth and improvement plans, evidence and documented observations to determine educator performance based upon the defined rubric. The electronic system will follow the frameworks for educator evaluation as adopted by the State Board of Education, which include multiple measures of educator performance.
