US Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services Issues Dyslexia Guidance Letter

The US Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services recently issued a Dyslexia Guidance letter to states and school districts.  The letter reminds all that the use of terms such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia are appropriate when supported by a child’s comprehensive evaluation. 


Ohio’s Master Teachers may renew expiring designations

The Ohio Department of Education is offering an expedited one-time renewal opportunity to all master teachers whose designations have expired or will expire by June 30, 2016. In making this provision available, the department recognizes that many master teachers are due for renewal for the first time (since the program began about five years ago). We wish to recognize how important it is for these Ohio’s teacher-leaders to maintain their designation.



2014-2015 PARCC Test Items Released

A selection of test questions that were given on the PARCC assessment last year are now available online. While Ohio is no longer using PARCC, these items are a useful tool to inform classroom instruction and give parents insight into the kinds of questions students experienced on tests.
