Teaching in Taiwan – Special Opportunity

1/30/2020

The Department of Education currently is accepting applications for the 2020-2021 Teaching in Taiwan Program through Friday, March 20, 2020.

Through a memorandum of understanding with Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, the Ohio Department of Education invites new and experienced licensed elementary and middle school teachers to apply for the Teaching in Taiwan program. The selected educators teach English to students in Taiwan for one academic year. Teaching contracts are from 10 to 11 months, depending on the placement.

Each Ohio teacher is paired with a Taiwanese classroom teacher. In addition to providing English language instruction, teachers work with Taiwanese educators to develop curriculum, prepare lesson plans and teaching materials, conduct classes and evaluate student progress.

Along with the application, applicants should be prepared to upload the following:
  • Recommendation forms from three sources;
  • Current resume;
  • Copy of transcripts (only if the applicant graduated in the last two years);
  • Copy of teaching certificate or license;
  • Recent photo of applicant (optional).
Below is more information about this special opportunity. Please contact Dwight Groce at (614) 387-3200 or dwight.groce@education.ohio.gov with questions about the program.
