New Ohio CTE Resident Educators License Options

The Ohio Department of Education is proud to announce two options for educators who hold an Alternative Resident Educator-Career Technical Workforce Development license. Please see the following attachments for requirements and details. If you have additional questions, contact the Center for the Teaching Profession at  1-877-644-6338 (Toll Free).

Child Count Data Date Change

The data used for the federal child count this year will be October 31. This is 30 days earlier than the previous snapshot date, and the October 31 date will align with other child counts required by state and federal law.

District reporting requirements for student data will not be affected by this change. The only data change will be the date that the Ohio Department of Education uses to extract the student data used for the count. IEPs that were due to be reviewed near the former December 1 reporting date will still be effective on October 31.

Career Based Intervention Onsite-Review Notification Letters Sent

Ohio legislation requires the Ohio Department of Education to conduct a review of all Career-Based Intervention (CBI) programs in FY2015. The reviews are an accountability measure to assure that students in these programs have optimum opportunities for success.

On-site reviews of more than 300 Ohio Career-Based Intervention programs will occur from Sept. 15 through Dec. 15, 2014. Each review covers applicable indicators in the Quality Program Standards.

Office of Career-Technical Education staff will be contacting CTPD Secondary Directors to set up appointments. We seek your leadership support to assure that reviews occur in an effective and efficient manner. If local Career-Based Intervention staff have supporting documents ready, each review should take approximately two hours.
