As the deadline for submitting Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA) tasks approaches, the RESA help desk now has extended hours of operation through Feb. 15 to support candidates.

RESA score reports expected June 15

On June 15, Educopia will release score reports for resident educators who participated in the Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA) during 2015-2016. Candidates will receive email notification of the reports with instructions for how to access them. In addition, their RESA status will appear as part of My RE Summary in CORE.

How do I know the status of my RESA submissions?

When a candidate’s Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA) task is successfully submitted, the candidate will receive an email from Educopia informing them that the task was submitted. If you do not receive an email, you should go back into your profile and make sure you submitted the task(s).

Mentor moments: helping resident educators with communications

Communication is a topic that is ever present among educators. Teachers must communicate with students, parents, caregivers, the community and colleagues. The importance of adequate communication, and its effect on every aspect of teaching, is emphasized by the Resident Educator Summative Assessment Task 4 prompt as well as the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession, Standard 6: Collaboration and Communication. How to achieve effective communication practices and strategies would be a great topic for upcoming meetings between mentors and their resident educators
