Nov. 21, 2013 Program Coordinator Update – RESA Help Desk, Deadline for completing the RESA Profile and Updated FAQs –

Teachscape is posting several announcements at ohioresa.com related to the Ohio Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA). Please share the information with RESA candidates in your district.

  • Teachscape has a RESA-only Help Desk available Monday through Friday, 2-10 p.m. EST. The toll-free number is 1 (855) 538-8634. Please do not call Teachscape’s general customer support line as you may experience a long wait time and will be referred to the number above.
     
  • The deadline for completing the RESA profile, including specifying the class for the Student Perception Survey, is now Dec. 15, 2013. Disregard the Dec. 1, 2013 date that is in the Handbook. Candidates will be able to begin filling out their RESA profile on Dec. 5, 2013.
     
  • Updated and new FAQs – which include additional clarification on videotaping lessons – are now available on the Resources page at ohioresa.com. The updated and new FAQs are posted at bottom right for your convenience. Within this document, here is what is new:
     
  • (Updated) How long should the video of the lesson be? (page 8);
  • (New) If there are pauses in my videotaped lesson for breaks or other interruptions (e.g., water break, dead battery, moving the camera to a better position), what should I do? (page 9);
  • (New) The Handbook states that evidence should not contain any building or district-level identifiers. How do I comply with this requirement when videotaping a lesson? (page 9);
  • (New) What happens if a non-permitted student is accidentally filmed during my lesson? (page 10).
