Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA) candidates are receiving the following message from Teachscape today (Wednesday, Dec. 18).
Dear RESA Candidates,
Congratulations to the more than 1,000 candidates who have successfully completed their Profile registration and submitted Task 1 for the Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA)! We also understand that many candidates are still working through their submissions and are anxious to complete the Profile and Task 1 now that the online submission system is working more smoothly. We also recognize that this is new technology that requires more time to learn to use and troubleshoot.
Therefore, to ensure that all candidates are able to successfully complete Task 1, we are extending the Task 1 deadline to Midnight Eastern Standard Time, Jan. 5, 2014. This is the final extension candidates will receive. After Jan. 5, there will be no extensions granted.
Teachscape will update the RESA Task Deadline in the online submission system at Midnight, Pacific Standard Time on Dec. 19, 2013. Until that time, the deadline will still appear as Dec. 22, but all candidates should know that they will have until Midnight (EST) on Jan. 5, 2014 to finish Task 1.
Additional Candidate Support
Teachscape has developed resources to help candidates complete Task 1. As many candidates are having difficulty with segmenting portions of their video for scoring, we have created a YouTube video (Webinar #6: Segmenting Video that You Are Attaching to a Form) that outlines tools and tips for uploading and segmenting videos. Also, please be sure to consult the Resources page of OhioRESA.com for links to other instructional screencasts and candidate resources.
Help Desk Hours
The Help Desk also will maintain its extended hours, except on days when closed for the holidays:
Monday through Friday until Jan. 5, 2014 – 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. EST, except for the following days when the Help Desk will be closed: Dec. 24, 25 and 31, 2013 and Jan. 1, 2014.
Weekend of Dec. 21-22 – 8 a.m. to midnight EST.
