For Program Coordinators

Program Coordinators provide program facilitation and fidelity by planning, implementing, and reporting on the Resident Educator program.

Summer and Fall Steps

  1. Identify/assign Coordinator-Resident Educator role in the Ohio Educational Directory System (OEDS)
  2. Identify implementation team (locally determined)
  3. Complete Resident Educator Program Standards Planning Tool in CORE
  4. Work with principals to select and assign mentors
  5. Ensure new mentors complete state training
    • Instructional Mentoring and Resident Educator-1
  6. Provide orientation to Resident Educator Program for Resident Educators, mentors, and building leaders
  7. Determine Resident Educator eligibility, register Resident Educators and identify mentors in CORE by November 15

Winter and Spring Steps

  1. Complete end-of -year program requirements in CORE by June 30, including completion of RESA (if applicable)
  2. Support Resident Educator and Mentor in completing Year 1, 2, and 3 FPR as applicable

Year Long Steps

  1. Support Resident Educator’s on-going progress
  2. Support ongoing professional development to Resident Educators and mentors (locally determined)

Orientation Resources

Program coordinators must ensure that all Resident Educators view this presentation, which provides information about the roles and responsibilities of mentors, principals and Resident Educators.
