Applying to Advance to a 5-year Professional License

It’s that time of year! Resident Educators who have completed four successful years in the Resident Educator Program and passed the RESA are eligible to apply to move to the second tier of Ohio’s four-tiered license structure, which is a 5-Year Professional Teaching License. Please advise your Resident Educators to carefully follow the steps listed below to complete the license application process.

Completion Criteria

The window for Resident Educator Program coordinators to enter completion criteria for registered Resident Educators for the 2017-2018 school year is open until June 30. Resident Educators who have completed four successful years in the program and passed the RESA, making them eligible to apply for the 5-Year Professional Teaching License, will not receive that professional license until the completion criteria has been entered in CORE in order to have “Advance” as an option.
