Free webinar on using primary sources will be Feb. 6
INFOhio is presenting a free webinar on Thursday, Feb. 6 titled Literature Connections to the Common Core: Creating Book Backdrops. Judy Bee, associate director of teaching with primary sources at Illinois State University, will explore how using primary sources known as Book Backdrops can bring books alive by developing and curating historical background.
Analyzing primary sources supports the goals of the Common Core State Standards, while actively engaging students in learning. Combining primary sources with literature fosters close and active reading, in addition to engaging students in critical thinking skills. This webinar will provide lesson guidelines and activities while modeling the development of Book Backdrops.
INFOhio schedules its webinars from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. All webinars are archived for later viewing, and you can still earn a certificate of attendance for continuing education credit by answering a few questions afterward.
