Ohio's no-cost, career planning system, OhioMeansJobs K-12, offers comprehensive, career exploration tools, online training and resources. Teachers should utilize these available resources to:
- Help students learn more about their career interests and in-demand jobs;
- Build résumés;
- Search for college and training programs;
- Create a budget based on future expenses; and
- Develop meaningful academic and career plans for high school and beyond.

Students also can access the recently-added Work Values tool
to see what occupations fit their work style preferences. Based on the O*Net work values
, this gives students a new understanding of how the values of achievement, independence, recognition, relationships, support and working conditions impact career satisfaction.
