Do you know about the Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators?

Because Ohio educators hold themselves to high standards, they will want to be aware of the Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators. This code applies to all educators licensed by the state, including coaches, aides, teachers (including substitutes), principals, superintendents and other licensed individuals serving schools, for example school nurses, counselors and treasurers.

Missing too much school has long-term, negative effects on students, such as lower achievement and a higher likelihood of not graduating. As a result, several changes take effect with the 2017-2018 school year.

Register now for adapted physical education workshop, Oct. 2

Educators interested in learning more about adapted physical education will want to attend a free, hands-on workshop on Monday, Oct. 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Columbus. During the session at the Ohio State School for the Blind, each attendee will teach other participants a lesson plan he or she has developed, followed by group discussion. Active engagement is essential for the workshop. Each participant will be expected to submit a lesson plan in advance for inclusion in a workbook that will be available to all attendees.
