When it comes to drugs and drug abuse, youth receive an abundance of misinformation from television, the internet, movies, music and peers. That’s why January 27th through February 2nd is being honored as National Drug Facts Week; a health observance for teens that aims to shatter the myths and share the truth about drugs and what they can do to one’s brain, body and behavior.

Superintendents, principals and other administrators who have responsibility for making decisions associated with student growth measures are strongly encouraged to register for an essential half-day training session, which will be conducted by educational service centers from Feb. 6 through March. The training will help administrators meet milestones on the evaluation timeline for the next few months, especially the legal requirements for completing teacher evaluations by May 1 and preparing written reports of the evaluations by May 10.
As a result of the change to prior written notice (PWN) requirements outlined in Memorandum 2013-1 issued on Dec. 20, 2013, an amendment was needed to Whose IDEA Is This? The Memorandum to Amend Whose IDEA Is This? must now be distributed anytime Whose IDEA Is This? is provided to parents until notice of a revised parent procedural safeguards notice is made available for dissemination.
Memorandum 2013-1 notified districts that an agreed upon IEP can no longer serve as prior written notice (PWN) to families. The Ohio Department of Education Office for Exceptional Children has updated the following prior written notice guidance documents: PWN, Informed Consent and Notice of Procedural Safeguards and PWN Question and Answer Document.
