The Memorandum to Amend Whose IDEA Is This? must now be distributed anytime Whose IDEA Is This? is provided to parents until notice of a revised parent procedural safeguards notice is made available for dissemination.
Memorandum 2013-1 notified districts that an agreed upon IEP can no longer serve as prior written notice (PWN) to families. The Ohio Department of Education Office for Exceptional Children has updated the following prior written notice guidance documents: PWN, Informed Consent and Notice of Procedural Safeguards and PWN Question and Answer Document.
