Beginning with the 2014-2015 school year, there will be end-of-course tests to meet Ohio high school graduation requirements. They will be English language arts 1 and 2, algebra I, geometry (or integrated mathematics 1 and 2), American history and American government and physical science.
The state superintendent of Ohio’s elementary, middle and secondary schools and the chancellor of Ohio colleges and universities will select the end-of-course tests. They will consult with faculty in the appropriate subject areas at Ohio higher education institutions. The date when the tests will be selected is to be determined.
Students enrolled in an advanced placement or international baccalaureate course will take the advanced placement or international baccalaureate tests instead of the physical science, American history or American government tests.
Students enrolled under any other dual enrollment or advanced standing program will take an applicable exam under dual enrollment or advanced standing exams instead of the physical science, American history or American government tests.
