The unique circumstances of this year create some logistical challenges for test administration. The Ohio Department of Education is committed to working through these issues to support the needs of schools to the extent possible.
  • The Spring 2021 test windows for the Alternate Assessment for Students with the Most Significant Cognitive Disabilities (AASCD) and the Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment (OELPA) have been extended to provide more flexibility for testing. Please see details below.
  •  The Department will also be extending the test window for the Spring 2021 Ohio’s State Tests administration in English language arts, mathematics, science and social studies assessments. The Department will provide communication once the extension dates have been confirmed.
  • Please read the important information on the Department website, which details flexibility in testing necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Due to technology and test security requirements, there is no option to remotely administer state tests. All testing must be done in person with a test administrator who is an employee of the district with a license, certificate or permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education. Districts first and foremost should be concerned about the safety of students and staff. Assessments should occur only if they can be done safely.
