FEA Ohio

Future Educators Association (FEA) Ohio is a nonprofit, dynamic statewide organization for middle and high school students interested in education-related careers. FEA Ohio was established in 1991 at the Department of Education with Phi Delta Kappa International, which sponsors the national Future Educators Association ® FEA program. FEA is a federally recognized Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO). Also, as the co-curricular component of state-recognized Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs of study, FEA enhances the classroom experience for students.

FEA Ohio works with advisors and officers of local chapters to:

• recruit members,
• plan projects and activities,
• share trend and program information, and
• provide a statewide communications network for local chapters.

Local Chapters help motivate students interested in education-related careers by encouraging them to :

• set educational and career goals early in life,
• focus on academic achievement,
• explore teaching through direct experience in classrooms, and
• become exemplary citizens through school and community service.

Students and Advisors elected at the annual conference form the FEA Ohio Executive Committee, which governs the state affiliate. The committee members:

• plan the spring conference,
• publish and disseminate a statewide newsletter, and
• represent Ohio at the FEA National Conference in April.

FEA Ohio Chapter Membership is open annually from August 1 to mid-December. Member benefits include:

• advisor e-mail updates,
• reduced registration fees for the FEA Ohio Conference, and
