Order Official GED® Transcripts

Only the State GED® Office can issue an official GED® transcript of scores earned on the Ohio GED®. You can obtain an official GED® transcript of scores by placing an order on the Ohio Department of Education website or by completing one of  the request forms below and returning by mail to the State GED® Office.

Order Your GED® Transcript Online
To complete an online order, you must have a Secure Application For Enterprise (SAFE) account. A SAFE account is a secure application only available on the Ohio Department of Education website.

Sign in to your existing SAFE account by clicking here. If you do not have a SAFE account, you may establish one by clicking here.

Processing and Fees
Standard processing for a GED® transcript is $10. The GED® Office will process your transcript within 30 business days from the day it is received. A sealed transcript for mailing is then delivered to a State mail station, followed by mailing through the United States Postal Service standard delivery. The State GED® Office does not control the time it takes to go through the State Mail Station or the United States Postal Service.

Priority processing is available for $15. The GED® Office will process your transcript within two business days. It will be sent by United States Postal Service first-class mail and also can be faxed to a number you specify.

Order Your GED® Transcript by Mail
If you would like to order by mail, please print the GED® Transcript Request form below and return with proper payment by mail.

An unofficial copy of your test results may be viewed and printed for free using your SAFE account. Click here to view your results online with your SAFE account.

The non-refundable service fee is for the record search. It does not guarantee that the person has taken or earned a GED®. The Ohio GED® Office will mail an official transcript of GED® scores or a "No Record Found" letter to the institution, employer, agency or individual you designate as the recipient of the requested information. For security and authenticity purposes, all official transcripts are mailed directly from the Ohio GED® Office to the institution, employer, agency or individual.

For your protection, the Privacy Act of 1974 requires written permission with your signature to release GED® scores. The Ohio GED® Transcript Office and local GED® testing centers can not release GED® score information over the telephone.

GED® Scores From Other States
The Ohio GED® Office has scores of the official GED® taken at test centers in Ohio. GED® test scores earned outside Ohio can be transferred to Ohio if the scores are reported directly from (1) official state-sponsored GED® test centers; (2) DANTES; (3) Veterans Administration hospitals; (4) American Council on Education; or (5) other state departments of education.
