Ohio’s Early Learning Challenge Grant

Ohio has been awarded almost $70 million for its application for funding for the Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge Grant. The grant will be used to improve the quality of programs that serve high-needs children from birth to five years of age and to carefully measure the results of programs in alignment with Gov. John Kasich’s goals of creating better metrics and coordination among agencies that serve young people.

The application development was led by the Governor’s office and prepared through a partnership of the Ohio Department of Education, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, and Ohio Business Roundtable (BRT).
