Updates to list of high-quality instructional materials in English language arts

Approved core curriculum and instructional materials now available

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce released an updated list of approved core curriculum and instructional materials in English language arts. Ohio law requires school districts, community schools, and STEM schools to use materials from these lists beginning no later than the 2024-2025 school year.

The Department’s review process for reading intervention programs is ongoing. A notification will be sent when the approved list of reading intervention programs is updated this month. Additional information, including an updated timeline and supports for districts and schools in selecting materials, is also available.
